Flood Mitigation Projects set to begin in Ward 33

April 13th, 2010

Construction is set to begin on Godstone Road, Esterbrooke Avenue, Shaughnessy Boulevard, and Leith Hill Road. The contractor performing the work is Clearway Construction.  The construction is expected to continue until September, 2010.

Before any digging occurs, a survey company will be performing an exterior and interior inspection of all properties within the construction zone.  The purpose of the inspection is to identify any pre-existing damages and/or conditions on private property.  Residents living on these streets will be notified by the company, OZA Inspections Ltd., and asked to arrange for an inspection of their home.

Shaqkha Vasdani is the field ambassador for this project, which means he will be able to respond to questions and concerns from residents.  Shaqkha can be reached at 416-338-5497 or at bfpp@ch2m.com .

This is the beginning of several flood mitigation projects and millions of dollars that are being invested in ward 33 to help deal with the ongoing issue of basement flooding.
