You're Invited! Winter Bash This Weekend

Winter has certainly made itself at home in Toronto over the past couple of weeks—so let’s make the most of it together this weekend. It’s time for our annual Don Valley North Winter Bash this Saturday, January 24 at 12:00 Noon!

Grab your skates and join us for outdoor skating, free hot chocolate, and winter sunshine. We’ll have a fire to gather around, a chance to warm your hands, and plenty of time to chat about whatever is on your mind. Free skate rentals will be available, so everyone can join in.

We’ll be celebrating at the lovely outdoor rink at Ethennonnhawahstihnen Park, one of our favourite winter gems in the ward. It’s one of the few times each year when tall buildings have a real upside—the surrounding towers help shelter the rink from the worst of the wind. Outdoor skating always takes me back to my North York childhood, when neighbourhood dads flooded local rinks and we spent countless winter hours skating together.

In addition to skating, we’re excited to offer arts programming from North York Arts, a visit from the Toronto Public Library Bookmobile, and other family-friendly activities throughout the afternoon.

My team will be at the Winter Bash to welcome you and take care of all the details, and you’ll also have a chance to meet a couple of new members of the Don Valley North staff team. I’ll be there as well, and I always look forward to connecting. With so much happening in Toronto and around the world, a good catch-up conversation feels especially timely.
